How We Supported Hope Rescue Charity This Christmas

Oaks Digital were thrilled to be able to fundraise for the amazing Hope Rescue charity in the lead up to Christmas.

    Who are Hope Rescue?

Hope Rescue is a dog welfare charity based in South Wales, UK, founded in 2005 by Vanessa Waddon. The organisation rescues stray, abandoned, and unwanted dogs, working to rehome them and improve animal welfare. In 2025, Hope Rescue cared for over 700 dogs with the winter months often leading to a surge in unwanted dogs arriving at their door requiring care and new homes.

    Hope Rescue’s Kennel Break Challenge

The fundraising event arranged by Hope Rescue was titled ‘The Kennel Break Challenge’. As part of this fundraising challenge, our director Mark Oakman was locked inside one of Hope Rescue’s dog kennels, armed with nothing but a phone, a laptop, and your support. The only way out? To raise £1k in donations.

The morning started with Mark receiving a Hope Rescue t-shirt and being locked into his kennel by pop star and Hope Rescue brand ambassador, Will Young. We’re pleased to report that Mark generated the £1k donation total within 5-hours (we’d have preferred it if he’d stayed in a bit longer) and was rewarded with his freedom, a glass of fizz and a trophy for all his efforts.

    Thank you for your Donations

Thank you to everyone who donated to get Mark out of the dog kennel, but more importantly, to support Hope Rescue in making a real difference for unwanted dogs over the challenging winter period. We’re proud to reveal that the total amount raised by Oaks Digital as part of The Kennel Break Challenge was £1,260. Diolch o galon.
